Hi everyone! How good does that Croissant Breakfast Sandwich look? I’m drooling just looking at it…
I love croissants just as much as the next person does, but buying them in bulk leads to old and dry croissants that have lost their elasticity and rich, buttery aroma. What do I do with those croissants, you might ask?
I make these Toasted Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches loaded with fried eggs, ham (or SPAM) and ooey gooey cheese.Β It’s quite simple to make and you can substitute whatever ingredients you like in the sandwich. Make it a BLT, make it meatless or turn it into a sweet sandwich; the possibilities are endless!
The version I will be sharing with you today is my favorite, as well as my Mom’s favorite combination; egg, spam and cheddar cheese. Nothing like a simple and classic breakfast sandwich, right?
Anyways, here is my recipe guide and I hope you will all enjoy!
-Chewy
- 2 Day old croissants, split in half
- Ham, SPAM, bacon or any other cooked meat
- Cheese (any kind, as long as it's sliceable)
- 2 Eggs
- Salt and Pepper
- Toast the croissants in a toaster oven or 2-4 minutes until slightly darker in color, then remove from oven.
- Beat the eggs with some salt and pepper and fry them in a pan, swirling the pan to create an omelet-style egg. Once the egg has been cooked, use a spatula to divide the omelet into 2 pieces and place them on top of the bottom half of the croissant.
- Put the cheese on top of the hot eggs and place the meat on top of the cheese, top the sandwich off by adding the top half of the croissant.
- Serve the croissant sandwiches while they're nice and hot and enjoy all it's delicious, hearty goodness!
