The real reason I went to Croatia
I’ll be completely honest with you, the original reason for me wanting to go to Croatia was so that I could attend Dimensions, a five-day techno music festival held in the Pula. Many people who know me think that I’m a purely classical music kind of person, but that’s far from the truth. I LOVE electronic music and a proper beat will get me dancing in no time.
This is one of the very few photos I took while at the festival… honestly, it’s not bad. I like the colours and the blur is cool; it’s an accurate depiction of those nights. The photo above is of Kraftwerk, who opened the festival in the 2000-year old amphitheatre in Pula. It was amazing to see them live; they really are the pioneers of techno music.
Beach time
The rest of my time in Pula was spent sightseeing and of course, sunbathing at the beach. By the last day, I had become a very tanned (and burnt) creature. I’ve still got my tan lines now, and it’s December. I still remember not being able to wear jeans on my flight back home because my stomach was so red and itchy. I mean, not that I usually wear jeans on flights anyways… long-haul flights are WAY too uncomfortable for that.
Above is a photo of me walking towards the Temple of Augustus. You can kind of tell how tanned I am by that photo, wow. The photo was taken by my hostel mate/friend Emma, the cutest and funnest person. Is funnest a word? I’m just gonna go with it. Anyways, Emma and I had lots of fun talking about everything under the sun while laying out, literally under the sun.
I know I saw this about nearly every place I visit, but I really must return to Pula. There is so much more to the city and its surrounding areas than what I explored. Maybe next year?
