Mainz: My favorite German city
Mainz holds a very special place in my heart. It’s the first city I ever visited in Europe and everything about it is just wonderful. I have some great friends who live in that city, so it’s always so fun to go back to visit them.
I love how Mainz is not super touristy, but still has some amazing attractions to see. From the Gutenberg museum to the Rhine and from the weekly market to the churches, this place is just so cute.
One of the most well-known attractions in the city is the Mainzer Dom, otherwise known as the Mainz Cathedral. This cathedral is located right near the historical centre of the city; you can’t miss it!This cathedral is beautiful, just like how all the other cathedrals in Europe are.
As someone who used to dislike the organ, my feelings shifted while I was in Germany. That was the first time I’d heard a real pipe organ being played in a cathedral. The sound was beautiful and I totally fell in love with the organ afterwards. Maybe one day, I too will be able to play organs in European church cathedrals…
