Food in Florence
While in Italy, I knew for certain that I’d be eating a ton of food. Usually my weight drops while I’m travelling due the sheer amount of walking I undertake, but not this time. It was totally worth it though, to eat all this wonderful and authentic Italian food and be surrounded by my good friends.
The case of gelato
My friends took me to Gelateria Pasticceria Badiani in Florence to taste what they believed to be the best gelato in all of town. Now before coming to Italy, I remember thinking to myself, don’t we also have pretty good gelato in Vancouver?
Well people, let me tell you this. The gelato at this place was AMAZING. FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC to put it in other words. I got 3 scoops of gelato and still contemplated going back for another 3 scoops. Hello diabetes.
Coffee, the Italian way.
Coming from Vancouver, I can tell you that we love our coffee. And you know what else we love to do? We love sitting in a coffee shop for hours, sipping our caffeinated beverage, that’s what. In Italy, that is not really the case. There are many coffee bars, where people go in a order a coffee at the bar, then proceed to drink the coffee right then and there, making “coffee time” a quick transaction that lasts merely a few minutes. More about this will be talked about in another post, there are other things I want to say about coffee. (I love my coffee and don’t say nothing bad to me about it!)
All’antico Vinaio
My lovely friends made a reservation for us to eat here one night, at the infamous All’antico Vinaio restaurant. If you have not heard about this place yet, search it up because it’s one of the best places to eat in Florence. The amount of food was HUGE and the quality of the meats and cheeses were to simply delectable. My mouth waters just thinking about that meal!
Sorry for the delays in posting, I really do wish there were more hours in a day!
